Top 10 Dangerous Thoughts About Your Health

1.  Maybe it will go away.

These 5 words are really dangerous.  Symptoms are your body's way of telling you something is wrong.  But symptoms can be like the tip of an iceberg - the dangerous part is not seen.  Get checked to find out if there is an underlying problem.

2.  I'll just take some Ibuprofen.

The problem with ibuprofen and other drugs are:

      1.  It masks the symptom and does not fix the underlying problem.

      2.  It can and does cause internal bleeding, kidney and/or liver damage and lead to organ failure.

      3.  It interferes with collagen production, the very thing you need to repair injured tissue.

3.  I'm fine.  My back doesn't hurt at all.

Research shows the absence of pain does not mean that your spine is in good alignment.  In fact, only 10% of the nerves in your body can even feel pain.  If you use pain as the indicator of when you need care, you'll miss 90% of what could be wrong with you.

4.  It's too late.  I'm too old to get better.

It's never too late.  Where there is life, there is hope.  Chiropractic care is truly womb to tomb health care.  We see fantastic results in practice members even in their 90's.

5.  I can "crack" my own back.

You cannot adjust yourself.  When you stretch and move and hear clicks in your spine, you are hearing the ligaments release, which in normal.  It's not normal to force this movement in anyway.

6.  My medical doctor says there's nothing else I can do.

There my be nothing else your medical doctor can do, but that does not mean that can not be helped by other means.  Too often, people seek chiropractic care as a last resort.

7.  I went to a chiropractor once and he fixed me.

Chiropractic is rarely a 1 adjustment miracle.  Chiropractic is really meant to be used as wellness care, to keep you healthy.  Just as you exercise, eat right, rest, etc., chiropractic is quite powerful when used consistently over time.  The families who have been under care in my office for 20+ years, simply do not decline like their non-chiropractic friends.  It is always up to you as to how you want to use chiropractic care and how healthy you want to be.

8.  I'm healthy.  I'm not taking any medications.

That's great, keep up the good work!  Mare sure a spinal check-up is part of your healthy lifestyle.  Do you wait for a toothache to go to the dentist?  How ridiculous!  No, you go regularly to keep your mouth healthy.  Your spine is the only thing on your body that cannot be replaced.

9.  I'm too busy.  I'll do it next week.

These are the words we often live to regret.  I believe this boils down to self love.  You really have to love yourself to prioritize yourself and take really good care of yourself.  If not you, who?

10.  My spouse doesn't believe in chiropractic.

You don't have to believe in chiropractic for it to work.  It's like gravity, if you drop an object, it will fall.  When you take the pressure off the nerve, the body will heal.  It happens every time, without fail.  Chiropractic is not faith-healing.
